Madera nursing center upgrading 22 rooms
Country Villa Madera Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is remodeling 22 rooms of its 176-bed facility — a $1.2 million project that the company has waited years to do.
“In a tumultuous time of cutbacks and rate decreases, Country Villa is giving us a renovation because the Madera facility is doing so well,” said the center’s administrator, John Chandar, Jr. “There’s not a lot we can’t do here and there’s no reason for our patients to have to go to Fresno for services. We have one of the lowest re-hospitalization rates, lowest fall rates, and lowest hospitalspread infection rates.”
Country Villa serves elderly patients who need shortterm or long-term care. The center provides physical, occupational and speech therapy and skilled nursing, Chandar said.
“We have more than 200 on staff here serving Maderans. A few members of our staff have been here since the facility opened in the ’60s,” he said. “It’s a great facility and now our cosmetics are going to match what’s inside.” ...
