FRESNO (AP) ― Authorities say at least one person is dead after a small plane crashed in mountains northeast of Fresno.
A Federal Aviation spokesman says a Cessna 421 was flying on an instrument flight plan from Salinas to Omaha, Neb. when it went down late Saturday.
Fresno County sheriff’s officials said a helicopter crew spotted the wreckage of the plane near Shaver Lake around 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Sheriff's Office spokesman Chris Curtice says when crews found the plane it was upside down.
