1 arrested in CHP pursuit of stolen SUV

An 18-year-old Madera man was arrested on charges of possessing a stolen vehicle early Thursday after the driver crashed it into a parked car on Ardilla Drive and the two allegedly ran from California Highway Patrol officers.

Ismael Meza of Madera was arrested after a brief foot pursuit and was also charged with criminal street gang activities.

CHP officers noticed the suspicious SUV and first attempted to stop it near Road 28. The driver took off and attempted to lose officers in a nearby residential subdivision.

The black 2008 Ford Edge had been reported stolen from a Madera car dealership June 29...
