Miles wins Outstanding First Year 4-H award

Jordan Miles is a 10-year-old 5th grade student at Mountain Home Charter School in Oakhurst. She has been a mini member of Raymond 4-H for two years and just completed a very successful first year.
Miles served as treasurer this year and was the county winner with her treasurer officer's book. She also received the 2nd place medal in Outstanding First Year with her project record book.
Her project work in 4-H includes horses, beef and arts and crafts. She was the 4-H Outstanding Horse Exhibitor at both the 2008 Chowchilla-Madera County Fair and the 2008 Madera District Fair. She was also the High Point Jr. Western rider at both fairs and won the Jr. All-Around Horsemanship buckle at the Chowchilla-Madera District Fair. She was the Intermediate Horse Showmanship winner at the Madera District Fair and went on to place 3rd in Intermediate Master Showmanship.
Miles showed her commercial Limousin heifer to a 3rd place finish in Chowchilla. She also received a first place award on an illustrated book she made in arts and crafts. With the other members in her club, she made and delivered Christmas tree ornaments to seniors in the community.
