A motorcyclist was arrested and his vehicle impounded after leading officers on a high-speed pursuit through Madera streets, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Luis Echevarria, 26, of Madera was arrested early Saturday on suspicion of driving under the influence, reckless endangerment, and felony evading, according to officers.
Echevarria was reportedly seen driving his 2007 Yamaha RX 1 motorcycle at speeds approaching 130 mph as he was northbound on State Route 99 about 3:50 a.m.
“He failed to stop and took the 4th Street off-ramp. He then attempted to evade us on Sunset, Granada and Riverview streets, (among others). He failed to stop at several intersections, endangering the public and other drivers,” said Officer J. Ruvalcaba...
