A town hall meeting organized by the Madera Coalition for Community Justice and New America Media to address the protection of public lands drew nearly 40 people.
Organizers aimed to follow up on environmental issues both groups have sought Rep. Jim’s Costa’s (D-Fresno) support on.
Last fall, the coalition canvassed neighborhoods and collected more than 500 signatures for a letter to Costa urging him to push for legislation to protect natural resources, human health and local economies in the Valley.
