Construction workers raised the concrete walls of the Madera County Office of Education’s new $13 million instructional support center Wednesday morning after beginning construction in mid-August.
The 49,000 square foot building located on the 1000 block of Madera Avenue next to MCOE’s Pioneer Technical Center will house all instructional support programs under one roof.
Builders expect to complete the building in January 2013, said Opie Riar, MCOE’s operations and facilities manager.
“It’ll house special ed, ed services, ed resources, and there’s a new culinary arts program planned out of it,” he said. “There will be one large conference center that can be divided up into eight smaller ones.”...
