The Madera Unified School District and the City of Madera today will host the grand opening of the Madera High School track for public use.
The ceremony will take place at the track, at the corner of Olive Avenue and Stadium Road, in Madera. The track and football stadium are housed at the same facility. Until now, the track has been open only for MUSD events and was not accessible to the public for use.
“We view this ceremony as the result of a valuable agreement between the school district and the city,” Madera Unified School District Superintendent Gustavo Balderas said. “The opening of the track for public use is something we want to do in order to promote wellness in our community, as well as to stress the importance of exercise and good health.”
Public use of the track will be allowed Monday through Friday. Access will begin at dawn and run until the start of school each morning. The track will re-open each day at the conclusion of school and will remain open until dusk. Public use of the track will not be permitted when the facility is being used for an MUSD event...

Madera Track
About time! I have been hoping the fence for years. As a former runner for Madera High I always felt the track belong to the public. Now I hope everyone helps in keeping it cleaned and that it is use properly.
