This Friday is our Winter Sports Rally and we’re throwing it back to the ‘90s baby. There will be many performances such as the crowning of the Ice King and Queen, the Indo Krew dance, and even a few students from Alpha Elementary.

The candidates for the Ice King and Queen are teachers Eddie Durham, Brad Krause, Brett Mattos, Rebecca Ibrahim, Naomi Lepe-Vera and Kristin Sheehan. The winners will be chosen by student vote. Below are the official dreams of each candidate:

  • Durham: “Dreams of shooting a great round of golf at Pebble Beach. he strives for lowering his golf handicap to scratch.”
  • Ibrahim: “Dreams of being amazing. She strives to be a ‘cray cray’ teacher.”
  • Krause: “Dreams of world peace. He strives for world domination.”
  • Lepe-Vera: “Dreams of controlling all barrios of the world. She strives for being the head chola that controls everyone and everything!”
  • Mattos: “Dreams of nothing since he’s already living the dream at Madera South High School. He strives for nothing. Last time he strived for something, he pulled a hamstring.”
  • Sheehan: “Dreams of being ICE Queen since there would be no greater honor. She strives for student success and excellence. She wants every student to find something they love and succeed in it.” ...
