What would our founding fathers make of the issues being bandied about before the upcoming presidential election? At one point it seemed this would be a one-issue race, namely the economy.

Then the cost of access to birth control and a woman’s right to choose took center spotlight. The latest controversy is President Obama’s support of same sex marriage.

Money and sex — literature has been using these subjects to entertain the masses since the beginning of time. It seems to me our presidential election should be more dignified than that.

An incumbent president has a huge advantage over a contender candidate. Although former President Jimmy Carter would probably disagree with that statement...
