Three Madera South baseball players are going to be denied the full experience and distinction of having been selected to play in the prestigious City/County All-Star baseball game Friday night at Chukchansi Park.
This is the defining moment in a high school athlete’s career — the culmination of what for many has been a 10-year journey full of ups and downs, challenges and obstacles and perseverance to be regarded as one of the best. And for many, this will be the final baseball game they will ever play.
But seniors Anthony Valle, Art Rodriguez and Jason Ibrahim will only receive a cameo appearance in the summer festival.
This is because the game, which has historically been played on a Sunday, wa s scheduled for Friday, which is graduation night for Madera South, yet another very special moment in their lives...
