Yes, just what is in store for us this year? One thing for sure, the previous year we proved the Mayans were wrong, and despite the television shows saying otherwise (for higher ratings) we proved old Nostradumass fallible.

This scribe is not predicting anything. Okay, maybe my first fun Friday will somehow appear at this same location in the paper in two days. After that, it’s as the Grass Roots sang in 1967, “Let’s Live for Today.” Besides I think it was Albert Einstein who said, “Don’t worry about the future, it comes soon enough.” Personally, I lean (forward) toward what Yogi Berra once mused, “The future ain’t what it used to be.”

Tamale Timi. For those of you that have noticed, yes, I have lost a few pounds over the last couple months. But I am quickly returning to my fighting weight (and the former notch in my belt) thanks to several of you caring girls, and notably in the last few days, Timi Milor.

This sweetheart (my gal said I could call her that for now) arrived at our front door just before New Year’s with a basket of fresh made tamales. And how she knew I love black olives I will never know, but they were delicious — the tamales too...
