Winter officially begins in Madera at 9:11 a.m. today according to The shortest period of daylight of the year occurs during this day of the Winter Solstice. Pardon the cliché, but Christmas is just around the corner.

Later today, the Fresno State Bulldogs will play the University of Southern California Trojans in the Las Vegas Bowl. Kick-off of the televised game is 12:30 p.m. on KFSN Channel 30.
