Though I am a lifelong Democrat, I am not a big fan of our current White House resident. However, last week our president did something I really agree with. His stance on no-cost contraceptives is one of the best moves of his administration.
Religious leaders are criticizing the policy because their beliefs oppose the use of birth control. They view it as a moral issue rather than a medical one. Of course the churches are in favor of large families, the more children, the more converts. The more church members the larger the amount in the collection plates.
If the churches were required to finance the public assistance of their indigent members would they change their stance?
The president isn’t making it mandatory that women use contraceptives, just that they receive them at no-charge if they want them...
