Liberty High School defeated Mendota during the Valley Championships in the Liberty High School Stadium on Friday.
Associated Student Body Leadership and Liberty administration worked diligently to prepare a pep rally to amp the student’s pride. Players made a grand entrance, led by the school mascot, where they were greeted by enthusiastic students with signs, bells, spirit towels, and green and gold beads. Principal Frank Panian gave a moving speech, as did varsity head coach, Mike Nolte, and by the end, students and players were pumped up.
Despite the frigid weather, many people flooded the stadiums to cheer and watch the intensity. Students joined one another in the student section shouting with excitement and waving pom-poms in the air. “Part of the high school experience is taking pride in your school and showing school spirit,” said learning director Sarah Marshall. “It was such a joy to see our student section cheering for their team.”
News channels joined the crowd, as well, to broadcast the anxious air and details of the game...
