The president’s visit to the Valley is set to pay off in the form of federal drought relief. Friday he flew in; he flew out, three hours in Fresno. We were a pit stop on his way to a golf game in Palm Springs.

According to USA Today reports, he stopped by Fresno on his way to Rancho Mirage to meet with King Abdullah II of Jordan. POTUS and the king are talking about the Middle East peace and the civil war in Syria.

I guess we should be grateful he found us three precious hours in his busy schedule considering we feed the entire country. If this Democrat is outraged by a drive-by presidential visit, imagine how the Republicans are feeling. I will never view a disaster visit by a president the same way again.

We can only hope that when he gets home he will write us a really big check. I don’t exactly understand how cash can produce the liquid gold that is water. It is a good thing it is not my job to get it. I’m glad my tax dollars will benefit my neighbors rather than be wasted on corporate welfare or foreign aid to people who wish us harm...
