It is such a joy to sit on my front porch during the morning and soak in the warmth of the sun as it rises over the peaks of the Sierra Nevada Mountains as I give thanks and welcome the new day. I do most of my spiritual activities during that time of the day.

A few days ago I was in a meditation for guidance on some issues, when a noise interrupted my quiet time.

It was the honking of a flock of geese doing what they do each year by flying south for the winter. I watched the flock until they were out of sight and was amazed at the change in the formation until they could no longer be seen. The lead goose was replaced by a goose from the rear of the formation as that goose had more energy to fly into the point position because of the air resistance the point goose had to overcome takes more energy than the ones in the rear of the formation. The geese in the rear of the formation reserved their energy by using the turbulence of the air created by the geese in front of them...
