High school athletes transferring from one school to another has gone on likely since the inception of high school sports. It has always been a problem that has been hard to enforce.
Madera Unified is in the process of trying to develop a hard and fast district policy that will curtail athletes from illegally transferring and playing for a school that is not in their attendance area.
If an athlete lives within certain geographical boundaries, then he or she must attend one of the two high schools.
Sounds pretty straightforward. But the reality is far different despite only having to police two high schools...
