Indeed, sometimes you good folks and perusers of this catbox liner are a plethora of people sharing particulars that otherwise would go unnoticed by this busy scribe. Neither time nor space allows me to make every single email, correspondent or phone call an item, but I do try every week, twice a week.

If you had your fill of brews for a while after the Super Bowl, you can take it easy until late spring. That’s when those hardworking Breakfast Lions will host their second annual Brewfest at the fairgrounds May 5. Actually, the Brewfest is a brew taste with dozens of micro breweries from the west willing to give you a taste of their finest concoctions of ale, malts and good ol’ beer. It’s all in good taste (pun intended) and raises much needed funds for our youth and community betterment.

At least the game, watched by 111 million viewers, didn’t put you to sleep. However, this year’s crop of commercials almost did. There has definitely been better ads over the years. In fact, in almost any year. Another Super Bowl lost for, but not entirely by, Tom Brady. Now the losing New England Patriot quarterback has pulled out of this weekend’s Pro-Am tournament at prestigious Pebble Beach. Sore loser? Or maybe just sore from being hit and sacked by the Giants.

One guy who isn’t sore either way is San Francisco 49ers head coach (and shoe in for Coach of the Year) Jim Harbaugh. He’ll be teeing off along with Niners quarterback Alex Smith and other celebs and pros including Bill Murray (bringing laughter) and Tiger Woods (bringing who knows what)...
