Stallions work for fun, hope

Last weekend we had our Sadie Hawkins dance at Boomers. This year’s theme was “Sadie’s goes crazy” with bright, bold, neon colors with attractions that many students enjoyed. This week we have our annual Red Ribbon Week along with our Go Pink game. Next week we have Action for Austin and Spook Fest carnival.

Red Ribbon Week is a tradition where students sign a paper, pledging to be drug free. Tomorrow more than 100 club members will take the silent pledge to honor someone’s life that was taken as a result of someone who was driving under the influence. Students will paint their faces white, and take part in the balloon release during lunch.

During the week, Leadership is promoting Breast Cancer Awareness with posters. On Friday, we challenge students and teachers to wear pink. Also on Friday we have our Go Pink game with the pre-game awareness walk at 6:45. Anyone can join and hold the pink link along with balloons that will be released.

Action for Austin Halloween is a new event that more than nine clubs will participate in. It’s an organization to give hope for families with infants in the neonatal and pediatric intensive care units. The clubs raised money to buy the infants hats and items, which will be passed out at Central California Children’s Hospital on Monday by the Action for Austin team...
