What is happening to high school athletics is alarming. Specialization in one sport has become an epidemic that has transformed the entire landscape of athletics.

Three-sport high school athletes are a thing of the past. The days when a lot of athletes played football, basketball and baseball or any other combination of sports are gone.

And this trend is not a positive one.

It has changed high school sports from an experience to be enjoyed into one where everything is sacrificed for the sake of specializing in a single sport with the ultimate goal being to earn a college scholarship...
