Several years ago I had an appointment in Bakersfield with a company interested in a product that I was selling that would help clean up the wastewater from their plant. I had sold my truck service business in Fresno and this product I was selling gave me something to do. And, I liked meeting new people and serving in any way I could to meet their needs.
Serving others is a way of feeding the Soul the spiritual food it needs to keep one balanced in mind, body and spirit. Jesus referred to the Soul as the Father within. I was in my fourth year of ministerial training and it was important to me to put into practice what I was learning and would be teaching others.
I stopped at a rest area to stretch and walk around and to just relax for a few minutes. As I drove into the parking area, I noticed a car with the hood open and a puddle of water under the car which indicated there was some kind of mechanical problem. After I parked my pickup, I noticed there was a young couple with two little girls and a very young baby outside the car sitting on a bench in front of the car. I introduced myself and asked if I could help them...
