I just took my poultry written test today. I am testing for Level 2 Poultry. The Small Animal Expo is a test of our knowledge and what we are learning about our animals in 4-H.

There is an expo for small animals such as poultry, rabbits, and dogs and there is a separate Large Animal Expo for animals such as cattle, swine (pigs), goats, and sheep. You can take as many written tests as you want, but you can only take the hands-on part of the test for one small and one large animal every year.

I am trying to pass Level 2 Poultry and Level 1 Sheep this year. If we do good and pass both parts of the test, we get a medal that we can sew on our hat, which shows what level we are at.

The written test had questions regarding facts about our species and tested us on parts of the animal. I also had to fill out an entry form as part of the test, which is something all 4-H kids should know how to do to enter their animals at the fairs...
