Tee Shepard had everything he wanted, then oddly walked away from the dream.

The former five-star recruit from Central High-Fresno — prior to transferring to Washington Union-Easton for his senior year — was the No.3 rated cornerback in the nation.

All the big-time programs coveted his services. In the end, he chose Notre Dame over USC and enrolled early to participate in spring practices.

Then less than a week before practice was to begin, he abruptly left...
