As time goes on and many of the traditions we grew up with become politically incorrect due to those who are offended and protest, sue, etc., I am wondering just how much longer Valentine’s Day will last. History tells us the name comes from St. Valentine (after the pagans had their turn with a previous version of the festival).
Being that there is so much religion tied up with this holiday, will we have to change greeting card verse to “Happy Red Heart Day” or ask people if they will “be my person-whom-I-care-for-and-give-chocolates-and-flowers-to?”
I’ll bet it won’t be too long before we are shunned for using the “V” word. But don’t take my ramblings too seriously. Maybe I should have a bite of chocolate to calm down!
