T-Ball registration is continuing. The Parks and Community Services Department expects more than 500 children to register. The fee is $38 per child.

The department always needs coaches and sponsors for T-Ball. Please call the department at 661-5495 or stop by the office at 701 E. 5th St. if you are interested in coaching or sponsoring and helping out the kids of Madera.

Youth basketball continues play on Saturday at the John W. Wells Youth Center, 701 E. 5th St. Doors open at 8:30 a.m., with the first game starting at 9. The snack bar opens at 9 a.m. Picture day is next week. Photos will be taken of all teams and individual players before their games.

We are beginning to take applications for lifeguards for the upcoming swim season beginning in June. If you are interested, stop by the John W. Wells Youth Center and pick up an application. All guards must be CPR and lifeguard certified by the Red Cross. The department can help you in finding classes...
