T-Ball registration is continuing. More than 500 kids are expected to register, so don’t wait until space runs out. The fee is $38 per child. The department always needs coaches and sponsors for TBall. Call 661-5495 or stop by the office at 701 E. 5th St. if you are interested in coaching or sponsoring and helping out kids of Madera.

The parks department is beginning to take lifeguard applications for the upcoming swim season beginning in June. If you are interested, stop by the John W. Wells Youth Center and pick up an application. All guards must be CPR and lifeguard certified by the Red Cross. The department can help you in finding classes.

Youth basketball picture day was held Saturday, with each team and individual player having their picture taken by a professional photographer. Photos will be ready in about two weeks.
