Sunday is the big game and that will mark the end of the 2013 professional football season. Two local service groups are hosting Super Sunday breakfasts.

The Howard 4-H Club, an agricultural friendly leadership program for kids, is serving breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. in Van Alen Hall at the Madera District Fairgrounds, 1850 W. Cleveland Ave. The annual Super Bowl Pancake breakfast is the major fundraiser of the year for the Howard club. Donations at the door are adults $6 and kids 12 years and younger $4.

During the same time frame, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1981 is serving its first Sunday of the month breakfast at the VFW Hall, 2026 N. Granada Ave. Entry at the door is adults $6 and 12 years and younger $3.

Both of these service clubs provide vital services to our community. The 4-H develops our young people into responsible adults and the VFW supports our active military members and those who have served in defense of freedom in the armed forces...
