The story of the day on the news a couple of days ago was about an 87-year-old man who put himself in harm’s way to protect a 5-year-old girl. It happened at a horse racing track when a very high spirited horse broke loose and ran through the crowd.

The man threw himself over the girl to protect her and he received some bad injuries and went to the hospital. He did not know the girl or her family but the family became very good friends with the man after the lifesaving event.

The story on the news ended with the man attending a dance contest, three years after the incident, where the little girl won the contest with a ballet dance performance. The girl’s father said this could not have happened if a total stranger had not saved his daughter’s life three years before at the horse track...
