Mock Trial makes it to county event

Liberty High School’s Mock Trial team traveled to San Jose for county competitions on Friday and stayed until Sunday. They competed against private high schools, such as La Reina High School, and public high schools, including Clovis West, Centennial Bakersfield, Redwood of Visalia, and Modesto High.

The students competed against these high schools Friday in two of the four competitions that they were to participate in. Saturday brought the team to their third round, in which mock trial member Claire Copher received a perfect score as defense attorney from the judges, earning the title of “Top Defense Attorney in the State of California.”

Another member of the Mock Trial team, junior Tyler Bird, earned the title of “Top Clerk in the State of California.”
