Lately I have been on a bean salad kick, with my favorite being a traditional four-bean salad. I don’t use a recipe, but I will do my best to try and throw some directions together.

One nice thing about bean salads is they do not usually contain mayonnaise or other perishable ingredients, so they lend themselves well to summer picnics, potlucks and other outings. Plus, they are very popular.

I don’t know why I have periods of time during which I go for months and never even think about preparing a bean salad. But as always, there comes a day when the light bulb suddenly turns on. Then I make one bean salad after another. Maybe what happens is I eat so much of it I get good and tired of bean salad, and that is why I will go a long time without even thinking about it.

If you’re hungry for some tasty bean salads, I hope you find something you like here...
