How low can you go?” Looking at the dog, Racer, sniffing the dry grass in the front yard I was thinking of our water table, not “Limbo Rock” (1962) by Chubby Checker.

Yes, Racer, along with some neighbors is wondering why my grass is turning a little brown and somewhat yellow in spots. The explanation is easy. I’m doing my part in this drought. I hopefully will water the lawn just enough to keep it alive until the rains come.

However, there will be some green grass to sit on at the opening Concert in the Park this Sunday. Hopefully it will not be too hot to dance the evening away because “The Remnants” play some groovy tunes to not only tap your toes, but get up and hit the dance floor, or, in this case, a slab of cement in front of the stage at Lions Town and Country Park.

The fun starts at 7 p.m. at the amphitheater just off Howard Road...
