It is with great sorrow that The Madera Tribune family bids farewell to one of our best employees, copy editor Ashley Lowe. In a small paper like ours, one job description per employee is never enough.

People whose primary job is to write stories will find themselves behind the lens of a camera, selling subscriptions or even taking classified ads. Like most families, you pitch in where you’re needed.

Ashley came to us in the summer of 2005 while studying journalism at Fresno State. She covered a variety of stories while finishing her degree, until she left us to work for the Merced Sun Star in 2006.

Living in Modesto, she left the Star to teach school for a while and then came back to us in the spring of 2009. Thursday was her last day. She is taking a job at the Klamath Falls Herald and News...
