“The Iceman Cometh.” A terrific play by Eugene O’Neill, but nothing compared to “The Ice Lady Splasheth.”

On a chilly Saturday morning, retired teacher Charlotte Brewer was espied by the folks in and near the corner booth moving quicker than an ice hockey goalie. Her flashy dash was to avoid a splash of icy torrent headed her direction like Yosemite Falls in spring.

Also, quick to respond with napkins and towels was Linda Recalde. Of course, ‘twas all an accident, caused by a swipe of Linda’s hand in mid-conversation. And I don’t even believe Linda is Italian.

Chomper chapter. Though I can’t reveal the source, evidently scientists have grown a full set of teeth in a laboratory. I wonder if my dentist friends, Drs. Jason Keledjian, John Bryan, David Rich and John Row, will award the scientists with plaque. And will the engraving be in gold or porcelain? ...
