This week has been especially remarkable for me. On Thursday, my mother QuoVada Hill would have celebrated her 84th birthday. She died April 23, 1990. Thursday also marked 19 years I have been employed by The Madera Tribune.
Mom and dad planned to have four kids. According to mom, she wanted to have two sons, get them in school and then have two more boys. Lucky for me about halfway through her last pregnancy she starting thinking it might be nice to have a daughter. The doctors advised against having a fourth child...
