It was pretty cool and patriotic to see all the American flags waving in the gentle breeze as I drove around town yesterday. This scribe is no vexillologist, but I do know our Stars and Stripes first flew on foreign soil at Fort Derne on the “shores of Tripoli” as the Marines sing.

If you haven’t sang the Star Spangled Banner today you can just hum the tune of the old English drinking song, “To Anacreon in Heaven.” The words by Francis Scott Key were set to the music. Blimey, give me another tankard!

What togetherness. A wonderful couple has decided to call their relationship ended after 115 years of sharing everything in their lives. Yep, Bibi, in no uncertain terms, has told her spouse, Poldi, that it’s over. Recently, she just walked away, never to return. Albeit, her steps were slow and deliberate.

Don’t know if Bibi has found another beau or just decided to finally come out of her shell. I hope she realizes it’s a zoo out there. So to speak. You see Bibi and Poldi are giant tortoises at an Austrian zoo. And if you ever ponder on doing the same I wouldn’t recommend how Bibi let poor Poldi know it’s over. She began gnawing on his shell...
