Forty years ago this month, 372 of my classmates and I graduated from Madera High School. As we marched into Memorial Stadium, the girls wore white and the boys were in blue gowns with our matching mortarboard caps.
On Aug. 10, we will gather at the Elk’s Lodge for a reunion of the MHS class of 1973. Tickets are $40 and available at 47th Place Carpet, 1717 Howard Rd. Deadline for tickets is July 6. We have also invited the Coyotes who graduated in 1971 and 1972 to join us. Anyone interested in playing golf on Aug. 9 should call David Boyle for details, 674-8508.
The dress code for the evening is as formal or casual as one cares to be. Based on past reunions there will be guys in suits and gals in cocktail dresses. Some will wear cowboy chic or casual Friday attire. I usually try to shoot for somewhere in the middle.
There are some interesting views on attending class reunions. Some people have issues with their high school memories...
