Frozen fruity goodness

Before summer slips away, I would like to make some frozen treats, such as fruit pops. I made several batches of ice cream so far this summer, but now I think it’s time for something icy, on a stick.

As a kid, I remember making root-beer (and cherry) treats in our old-fashioned metal ice-cube trays. I think we mixed up Kool-Aid or something similar. Of course, in those days, the ice-cube trays were modern and not old-fashioned! We had a type that used a key to loosen the cubes, and another type that had an attached lever you pulled back. Anybody remember those?

We would poke “Popsicle” sticks in each cube, if we had them, but if we didn’t, we just grabbed a napkin and held the frozen treat in our hands. Here are some good recipes for you to try if you feel like making a few frozen treats.
