In danger of going to the dogs

Whew! What a great weekend. The good folks from all around Madera came together at Lions Town and Country Park for the annual Relay For Life and raised more than $94,000. But the fundraising doesn’t end with that 24-hour walk in the park. We have until Aug. 31 to get to that $100,000 mark and I am sure this town and its people can do it.

And with the election over in June there will be only fun and fund-raising at the event called Bark For Life. It’s the annual canine get-together at the park in August. Don’t worry, as we get closer this ol’ dog will remind you.

Speaking of the above, my pilot pal Bill Hoffrage, when learning of my nickname around town, Scoop, suggested it didn’t come from my nose for a story, but my support of the Dog Park and all the dog doings at their place at Rotary Park. He also suggested I should watch my step. What a pal...
