There are two kinds of teenage girls. Those who love school dances, and those who pretend to absolutely hate school dances while secretly loving them.
No female between the age of 14 and 22 could ever genuinely hate a dance because these events combine everything we adore — an excuse to spend countless hours shopping for the perfect dress, beautiful (read: painful) shoes, and an opportunity to stand around and have your picture taken by the “paparazzi” (read: a bunch of your friends’ moms who are still figuring out how to work their new digital cameras).
With the advent of Facebook, dances got even better; now, everyone can see how good you and your friends looked at prom, even if they weren’t there! Isn’t technology neat-o?
