I ran into a large group of cyclists over the weekend, all decked out in the whole spandex-shorts-and-mollusk-shaped-helmets uniform.
I was coming back from Fresno and had pulled my truck over for gas in the Ranchos. They had pulled over for water. We were each in the midst of a 25-mile journey.
Mine was more exhausting. I had to get out, stretch and rehydrate. They each drank about a thimble of water.
And then I just had to ask. Why? Why would any sane person want to strap their goods inside a latex suit on a 100 degree day and pedal? Just pedal. Over and over and over...
