The Howard 4-H Club discussed local history, projects, and bowling as it toured the Madera County Historical Museum in central Madera for its monthly meeting earlier this month.

The museum was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Club members enjoyed touring and having fun finding answers to specific questions about the museum. President Lauren Garrison thanked the Madera Historical Society for letting the club use the museum for the December meeting.

The decorations were a fitting backdrop for the meeting. The Christmas Star chairmen were busy collecting all of the presents for the Norman Gould School families the club had adopted. Mckayla Batty and Madison Beyer reported that more than 150 Christmas placements were decorated for the Madera Rehabilitation Center.

Numerous project reports and meeting announcements were given. Small animal groups were busy studying for the Small Animal Expo. Other project groups are learning about arts and crafts, sewing, cooking, livestock, and rockets...
