Last week was crazy busy. We moved from a two-story house to a single level. Every time I climbed the stairs during my 30 months in the previous house, I grumbled “stupidest thing we ever did.” People with ambulatory issues should not rent a home with all the bedrooms on the second story. We should have known better.
However, the house built by Dave Berry is so awesome we allowed ourselves to be dazzled into believing we could manage the stairs, all evidence to the contrary. It will be good for us; we will benefit from the forced exercise and become masters of the stairs. Lying to yourself when you really want something is far too easy.
I asked my husband if he thought we would live long enough to do something this stupid again. He has faith that we will. It will at least be a new stupid mistake, as we tend to learn from our mistakes.
We are so grateful to the Eddings family, for their help during the move. David tapped a couple of nephews and a friend to doing the heavy lifting. His wife Stefanie and daughter Simone helped pack and move the kitchen and closets and then created order out of the chaos that occurred during the move. With their help, it only took a week instead of a month...
