The future of Madera Coyote baseball is in great shape, thanks to the effort of an amazing player from the past.

Former Madera High star baseball player Mark Beyer had a few goals as the freshman baseball coach for the Coyotes this past season.

First, to instill a winning attitude in his players — a very reasonable goal. His next goal was that the team go undefeated, which seemed a bit of a reach.

“I wanted to establish a winning attitude and bring that back to Madera baseball,” Beyer said. “You have to get that done at the lower levels if you want to experience success at the varsity level.” ...
