Last week was National Future Farmers of America week. Our Madera FFA chapter held various activities both during and after school. They also had dress-up days and events that served as a reminder about what FFA is all about.

On Tuesday night, we held our 4.0 Academic Letter Awards Night. We had 282 students who were invited and our award ceremonies were held in three venues where teachers presented students with a certificate and academic letter. Parents and guests were treated to refreshments and dessert.

Also Tuesday night was our Purple Pyramid Choir Concert, which featured choirs from our feeder schools.

Next Tuesday, students and staff will get up a little bit earlier to take part in the annual Kids Day newspaper sales benefiting Children’s Hospital Central California in Madera County. We are hoping that our 10 groups will be able to beat last year’s sales of $3,000...
