Albeit rather slowly. First off, thank you for all the emails, calls and correspondence to me and/or my gal about my down time after reading that replacement “best of” (?) column Wednesday. Your concern is greatly appreciated. Rest (which is what I really needed) assured I will be out and about soon, causing havoc, and hopefully some hilarity.

Juiced, the right way. I must say during my forced bed rest I consumed a wide array of fruit concoctions and none of them a fruit cocktail. My gal kept plying me with liquids of every color of the rainbow, except maybe blue, to help nurse me back to my old self and break a pretty high fever. I’m sure I was a bear to live with during this time, but she was my honey.

Juiced, the wrong way. What a shock it was to hear that San Francisco Giants outfielder Melky Cabrera has been suspended for 50 games after testing positive for a banned substance.

The leading hitter for the Giants, AllStar Game MVP, and among the top players in offensive production, the “Milkman” will be difficult for the team to replace. To his credit, Cabrera immediately admitted his mistake and didn’t appeal or attempt to hide behind a screen of expensive lawyers who would have kept up the charade and lies...
