One would think I would be a little more observant as a sometime reporter.
Thoughts on happenings in the city of Madera.
It all began with our first car, a green 1969 Ford Maverick my gal had bought with my overseas pay I had sent home while in the army.
Paying homage. Even on a warm, and getting warmer by the minute, day it was nice to see so many Maderans turn out for the Memorial Day services at Arbor Vitae Cemetery and Courthouse Park.
Summer is almost upon us. That means barbecues, cruising, baseball and fun. There is one group that just keeps rolling along (literally) and that is the great folks of Madera Classic Cars.
King of the monsters. We went to see that giant lizard Godzilla. Don’t worry, I won’t give away the plot, or the ending, or any issue regarding “spoiler alerts.” However, I did see a glaring inaccuracy.
Fun all over. With this warm, bordering on hot, weather lately the parks have been full of picnickers and even some nitpickers.
The hockey playoffs are in full swing, but wait, don’t turn the page.
