Since the North Fork Indian Rancheria started the process of opening the casino north of Madera on Highway 99, there has been opposition to their attempting to do this, and well there should be.

On behalf of all the Shades of Grey musicians, I would like to thank The Madera Tribune for the great story covering our 20th anniversary celebration at the Bergon Center.
This is a letter in response to Tami Jo Nix’s article of Feb. 18 regarding the recent Health and Human Services ruling requiring faith-based organizations to provide contraceptive coverage.
I cannot believe that I have such a strong disagreement with the author of the column Gravy by the Slice that ran Feb. 18.
It appears to me and others in this community that Madera Unified School Board is in a critical state with regards to its credibility due to its leadership.
