Last Wednesday I attended the funeral of my friend Nora Salazar. On behalf of myself and the Madera Christmas Basket program I wanted to add my own tribute and my thanks for all she did for us.

I have been following the recall election of Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin with much interest, because they are saying this could be a harbinger of things to come in November nationally.
In answer to the woman who phoned the Red Line and who was too unethical to give her name, re: derogatory comments which I believe were directed toward supervisorial candidate Isabel Barreras:
I’m a judge of the Madera County Superior Court.
I am compelled to write this letter because of recent events. My picture has been used in a campaign advertisement and on a political web site without my permission.
While what is now the contiguous 48 states was once “owned” by three empires, what built the society was commerce under a system of free enterprise.
