It never ceases to amaze me when I hear someone say or I read about them being surprised to hear that Manuel Nevarez was appointed by Jerry Brown to fill the supervisor seat vacated by Frank Bigelow.

I would like to thank the Madera Tribune and Leon Emo for the article on Trona, Calif., on March 30. After the article appeared I received a call from a man who had lived in Trona at the time I lived there.
Last week was interesting when two people asked me why I was picketing with the teachers union and was not protecting Madera Unified School District. I looked at them puzzled and in disbelief.
